After a long search, I was able to land the White Elephant.....a Powerstar 200! I have been looking for one off and on for several years and this one popped up for sale only 30 mins away from where I live. It is in really good shape and even has the two judges seats. I am really excited about this new toy!

Still strange to see an outboard on a mastercraft... I know barefoots were all about that.....it's like went cars went front wheel drive...- where's the hump?

I'm jealous...if you don't mind me being noisy how much? there was one for sale up in my neck of the woods and he wanted, what seemed to me, to be a lot.

Do the barefoot 200's cavitate in a hard turn?

You can pick me up on the way south... Snow is flying in Columbus...

sweet looking boat... never even heard of the Powerstar.... What years was this made? Was it based on any certain hull design or something completely different?

Yes, boom can go off either side. I'll switch it to the left as that is what I am used to. Previous owner had it off the right.

what years were these made in contrast to the barefoot 200?

The Barefoot 200 was made from 1991-1996. The Powerstar 200 was made in 1998-1999 and I believe only about 175 or so were ever produced. Very rare indeed. I have owned several different Barefoot 200's, but this is my first Powerstar. I am looking forward to fun on the water with it!

Sweeet man! A couple of questions.....

Okay so thats the 205 hull from 96-00?

How fast is it!

What happens when you trim it up? Does the nose really lift up?

The top deck looks very similar to that of a 1998 Prostar 205 although I am pretty sure the hull bottom is a little different. Top speed is about 55-60mph. Withthe engine trimmed way up, it throws a bit of a rooster tail, but dosent lift up the nose all that much.

Tom,

That is a sharp looking boat. And you're right, they are rare and hard to find. I remember looking for one once upon a time with little luck.

Hope all is well on your end.

Ya I kinda thought that to....the top really looks like a 96-00 205, but the bottom kind of looks like the 92-95 205 hull??
That thing can do almost 60?:D

Very cool......... now remember, no surfing with that puppy...

The guy I bought it from said he had a bunch of emails on it within the first day of posting. It is in great shape. I'd love to show it off at a BAWS reunion. Anything on the books??

I think I need to come down make sure the wake is appropriate for barefooting! ;)

I only footed off one at Seipel's back in the day when Deb and I were down there for a week of barefoot and wakeboard training. The wake behind the boat was very smooth.

Awesome boat! I drove a 92 Barefoot 200 back in 92 I remember how awesome it was. I never knew they produced an open bow version thats sweet.

How is the throttle/shifter on that boat? Is it as solid as a DD Mastercraft? The last outboard (not a MC) I drove had a cheap plastic shifter that had a lot of play in it.
Nice looking boat.

Great looking boat! Looks to have been well cared for. I'm a fellow Outboard MasterCraft owner too. Have a 1988 ProStar 200 with 200hp Mercury XRi.

I see you have the Aluminum BF Intl X-Pole, trying to decide between it and the stainless steel model, any thoughts?

Throttle lever is a Standard Mercury and is. Ice and solid. You must have driven a boat with one that was worn out.
