Been keeping an eye out on all the various boards..... looking for a 205 under $15k. I'm looking for a deal, everything I've seen is too expensive and has been sitting. I'd really like a '96 - 99 205, or even a 91-97 190 (under $10k). Let me know if you guys see anything, I'm not really interested in travelling too far, although I've been keeping an eye on the BAWS website.
James in PA.

yeah, thinking of the Sammy. What experience do people have with renting a vehicle to tow one way?

That's an awesome deal right there!
Even the $12-$1500 Jim quoted is pretty good because you would probably get almost that much into it doing it yourself and that's not counting your time.
Rented a U-Haul for 1700mi tow, $1k for that distance one-way and figure about 10mpg. It towed great, 70-80mph no problem. Was buying from private owner not a reputable dealer like BAWS so I needed to see the boat in person.

In Oct 2011 I rented a Toyota Tundra for a 1400 mile round trip - Knoxville - Tampa and back. $226 for a three day weekend - unlimited mileage. A little over $300 for gasoline fuel. No wear and tear on my truck or tires and gasoline is less expensive than diesel right now. Good move for me and gave me the perfect opportunity to test drive the 381 HP Tundra. I was very satisfied with the performance while towing a PS 190 back to TN from FL. Never knew it was back there other than in the mirror.
