My son and I want to build a slider/ramp that we can ride over....does any one have any plans that they know about? I have checked the wakeworld sites and keep coming up short...any ideas?

It would need to be portable...and not too heavy...something that I can put in at the ramp....thanks

Get a Rave slider.

I don't think Rave is making the slider anymore, and used ones worth having are really hard to find. They are fun portable sliders though.

Correct...talked to the Rainbow people last month...they haven't made them in about 3 years....some can be found, but they are pretty pricey....1000 plus....we have a block of styrofoam about 2x4x12....that's our starting point....

Have you talked to Lee at Ski Hut? He may have an idea or two...

How much weight will the piece of foam hold up?
What about using PVC?

Black is PVC gray is foam:

Quick note from experience -

Floating sliders are difficult to keep from moving even if they are anchored unless they are really big (such as the one's on the Pro Tour). If you have a big open lake where a jetski can pull you at any angle then this isn't a problem.

The blow up kind pictured above will not only move around but they flex in the middle and are really difficult to use.

If you build a slider the best way to go is a permanent one that is built off of wood pilons that are fixed into the bottom of the lake. No movemont or flexing. However consult with your local Wildlife Dept. or Lake Association b/c they may not like it and force you to tear it down.

Where we ski, it is a Corps lake, the average depth is over 75'....a little deep for a permanent one....we are thinking of wrapping the foam in 2x4s, and using plywood for a ramp....like a miniature ski jump...or possibly TREX, since it comes in lengths up to 15'....making the jump about 4' high and about 10-12' long....we had one this weekend for a prototype, but it was too steep....the boys made some attempts at it...my son almost landed some, but we are now trying to improve the design...I'll post some pics when I can
