Hey guys,
I don't post here much, and normally lurk in the shadows hoping to absorb information. However, I found this interesting.

The premise of this project is they're raising a local dam (San Vicente Reservoir) for more water storage. I believe they're hoping to have this open by 2014-2017 for the water to accumulate. They have a web cam that takes a photo every 30 mins, and I found it interesting. The cam and project info can be viewed at the link below.

Three years later, and thanks to El Nino there is talk of the dam opening up as early as January. The bass fishermen are excited. Supposedly they may need to put launch tickets on Ticketmaster for the opening! I've been waiting for this a LONG TIME!

Is that my imagination, or is that that 6 wide for backing down the ramp? Also looks to be a mile long backup.....Should put up a lawn chair on opening day and watch the festivities.

Definitely a huge ramp. The pic is from earlier this year. The way it works with the fluctuating lake levels here in so cal so you build a huge ramp for several elevations. It's way better than the two lanes it replaced!

We've been getting hammered with rain here in Southern CA, and it's really been helping the water level rise. It's so close to being open to the public. Here is a drone video:
