Can someone please tell me how I can tighten these bolts? They are not getting tight when I put a wrench to 'em.

Your arms are hairy. I guess that is okay.
Is there a nut on the bottom side that is spinning as you attempt to tighten? Simple I know but did you look?

Good Luck...

Is that a lag bolt, or a machine screw?
It is theraded into your fiberglass stringer.
If machine screw, is there a threaded insert that can be replaced.

I know, questions, but no answers.

If it is a lag bolt then why are you tightening it. Does it vibrate? Please elaborate for a resolution. Thanks Steve

I'm tightening them because they're loose. Visibly loose. HELP! :eek

Well if you owned any other brand boat I'd say go to Lowes and get you some lumber cuz you got rotten stringers but you are cool and got an MC :headbang:

Maybe Jim will catch this thread and chime in. I'd think there would have to be metal inserts in there as metal bolts to screw would seem to get trashed pretty quick

I think if they are that loose and wont tighten, I would try to take one out to see for yourself what your dealing with. If I get the chance after I put the kids to bed tonight I’ll try to take a look at my 93..

If you look into the bolt hole with a flashlight, you may see a metal plate below the fiberglass. If you do, you can drill it out and re-thread it for the next larger bolt. If you don't see a plate, you can fill te hole with MarineTex and redrill it. JB Weld will also work well for this.

Of course when you say beer I'm sure you mean some gourmet beer. I mean you can't drink a simple Bud Lt. You probably buy some guchie beer that's 12$ a 6 pack, right? Just like the Tequilla!! 8p
