The wife and I had to drive up to Winchester today to check on our lakehouse being built. The water was perfect.

My baby's empty cradle :(

Some lucky guy on the lake (saw a red Xstar and X30). Believe this is the X30:

Weekend RETREAT!!!

It's just 1 1/2 hours from Chattanooga. We have had the land in the family since TVA first sold the lots in the 70's. With 3 kids now, a 1600 square foot house didn't cut it. This will be the 2nd summer not being on the water. We are finding out that there is regular time and there is Winchester time. The building is slow.

We sold the original lakehouse last year (below):

BB, that place looks sweet! Whats the SQ. Ft? Does the area have a website?

j,

With the finished basement, we are approximately 6100 square feet. The lake is Tim's Ford.

Not sure about websites for the area. In the 70's/80's, TVA auctioned off lake lots for 4 neighborhoods. The lots could have private docks. We used to have a fixed dock, but when I got the X30/Sea-Doos, we decided to have something to house all of the toys.

There is a new neighborhood named Fanning Bend on the lake with lots for sell. Downer is no private docks, just 1 community dock. Rumor has it that this will be the final development on the lake. I take that with a grain of salt. TVA will probably sell more land if the price is right. I would rate this lake at the top of all lakes in TN. Clean water, nice size, and courteous boaters all around.

Another picture looking out the master bedroom:

What I really like is being right at the mouth of a slew and not seeing anyone across from us.

Wow! Beautiful!
We visited Tim's Ford last year when we bought the S&S.
Beautiful Place!
I couldn't wait to get out on the lake and ski.
I had no problem finding glass.
The Bear Trace course was also very nice.
I'm sure Beau will have a few comments regarding Tim's
We all loved it!
Congrats Barney! ;)

That's one heck of a "retreat". lol

You'll be a happy camper when you can pull up to the dock after a nice set and see her completed.

Sweet house BB! I've seen the house and it is beautiful!
If you would PM me prior to going to Tims, I will be glad to pull you around the lake for a few sets. We could even head to the course. Your house is about 5-10 minutes from the course.

Fanning Bend lots are around $70K for an interior lot (no slip in the community dock) and $225K for a lake lot (slip in community dock included).

Thanks bc. I may take you up on that offer in the coming weeks.

I almost had a killer picture to post on the swimsuit thread. A boat pulled up and tied to the dock while we were talking to the builder. 3 ladies in 2 pieces got out and started walking up the ramp. The lead lady was in hot pink and definitely deserved to wear it. I grabbed the camera and stepped over to the edge of the house to get a shot for the forum.

About that time I heard, "Are you taking pictures of those girls?" from the Mrs. and she was not happy. When I looked back down, the women had heard us and scampered back in the boat and took off. Maybe next time.
