Hey Guys,

Haven't posted in here for a while then came back for a short time at the end of summer, came back to school and didn't have time for TT with everything going on. As some of you may or may not know, I'm currently at Penn State University in State College (hence why I say everything that is going on... on top of school work). Before you crack jokes or anything, please save them, we've all heard them 3,000 times. In any case, I have a question I'm trying to find the answer too.

Our family has an 07 X-1. The dash on the X-1 has the cheap looking black rocker switches. Well now that it's going to be 5 years old, some of the white writing on the buttons is coming off. My dad and I want to upgrade to the 2011 dash where it has the nice billet panels and nice switches. My question is does anyone know how much it would cost for the panels on both sides of the steering wheel, the panel where the gauges are, the panel where the shifter is and also the switches.

I personally think the black rocker switches look terribly cheap and that the billet aluminum panel looks much better with the nice slim rocker switches.

If anyone has any idea or could find out, that would be awesome!

Thanks

Lenny

Thanks for asking this question. I have been searching forever and can't find anywhere on the internet to order these panels.

I also have 2007 but while traveling down the road one of the plastic/glass covers over RPMs gage broke off and the only way to fix it is order a whole new panel or at least that is what I was told.

Can't wait to hear the suggestions!!

Is this the kind of stuff you're looking for. If so greatlakesskipper on Ebay seem to have a a bit of it.

If you can make a template or drawing, most good metal shops that do aluminum CNC work can make you the dash plates. Also, I suspect the billet aluminum dash found on the 2005 X2 will fit your 2007 X1.

Beware, that while the silver toggle switches MC used on X-stars and other boats the last 4 years look better, they are plastic and unfortunately not high quality.

X 2! I have heard lots of problems with the silver toggle switches! Ask Sodar how many switches he has been through. I like my black ones, never a problem and I personally like the look. Upgrade to the billet 05 dash, though. 06+ is cheap plastic and reminds me of the old Tige's. :o

I've had zero issues with my 06 and the Carling switches.

That would be approximately two handfuls, Scotty! 8p

That's exactly what I want. I like the look of the small switches but it sounds like they might have problems. Where did you get those billet plates? And if you don't mind me asking, how much did they run you?

I bought the billett aluminum from a Sammy Duval Edition. The aluminum was anodized in black, so I am trying to remove the anodization now. I may have them anodized in a candy apple blue or leave them polished aluminum. The really cool part is all of the gauges will have bezels on them.

Out of town right now, but I will post up some pics of work in progress when I get home this weekend.

Glad to hear you're doing good and in college!

Found the set on ebay, i think it was like $99 for everything. I just kept searching and searching and eventually it popped up..

If "wife" bought me a throttle knob for xmas I would be shocked... mainly as i didnt know i was married!!! haha

Im looking for the mastercraft chrome knob, but i cant find it anywhere =(

I wonder how much it would be to go through MasterCraft to get the 2011 Panels and switches.

Did they fit over your existing gauges? Was there any mods you had to do?
I have a 99 PS and the dash is the same set up as yours but very plain. I'd like to find the similar set up but I don't really want to start pulling out the gauges to fit the alum.

The dash pods are really easy to get into. Simple swap.

I guess maybe I'll contact my MC dealer and see if they can get the 2011 X1 dash for me.

I pulled the gauges, and cut all the area between each guage with a dremel, then guages are fastened to the aluminum bezel, and then the bezel is screw to the dash. The original holes did not line up for some reason.
