I have a 96 Prostar 205 and have to store it outside, covered:(. I live in California and it only gets to freezing a few times a year for a few hours. What I'v done the past three years is pull the hoses and the knock sensor? at the bottom. My biggest question is I also pull the manifold plugs and leave them out. Is this enough and should I put the manifold plugs back in? Thanks

You should be fine. I live near by in Pleasant Hill and store mine on the side of the house under a carport but still out side. I only drain the block and manifolds. If the news ever says it's going to be a hard freeze I throw a 60watt shop light in that I hang from the pylon near the floor and leave the engine compartment up a couple of inches on a 2 x 4. Yes leave the drain plugs out for the winter.

There should be a drain on the starboard side of the block as well. The knock sensor is on the port side.

A little anti-seize or oil on the female threads will keep the corrosion away so you don't have to chase them in the spring....

If you are worried I would hang a light tonight. I just went out and did it. Supposed to be in the high 20's tonight. The news just said freeze warnings in the delta valley tonight.

I store mine under a car port outside, and I live in Canada. As long as the block is completely drained, its fine. I don't use antifreeze, just remove knock sensor and drain plug on the other side, remove manifold plugs. I also remove the cover on the impeller housing and take off the lower hoses. Never had a problem.
