Getting ready to replace / upgrade cabin 6"/6.5" (whichever) speakers and the grills don't seem to readily come off.

Before I break something, is there an easy explanation to remove grills. They are old Pioneer units, probably from the early 90s (quite probably factory installs).

TIA!

TIA!Take a small blade screw driver and wedge it right in behind the grill or on the leading edge of the rear of the grill. It should pop right off. I just removed some old Pioneer speakers tonight, same issue. Once I realized how easily they come off, it was a snap. Hope this helps. Your mileage may vary.
