Is there anything I can do to improve the handling on my 03 x-30... Its not terrible but could use some improvement.

Any ideas?

Yep, I changed to the newer style rudder (larger) on my '03 Maristar 230 and it was a big improvement. Filling the KGB will make it ride better in the chop too.

You say you switched to the newer style rudder, is this a simple swap, will it just bolt right on to the existing mount?

Anywhere I should look to purchase one?

Any MC dealer can order one for you. I happen to use Jim@BAWS (on here), he is located in Tampa FL. It's an easy swap, I did not have to change the rudder port with it...just use the old one (unless you have excess side play then you may need the rudder port too)

I changed it out on my old x-30 too. Made a HUGE difference! Call Jim @ BAWS. 813-996-BAWS

Did you need to change the rudder housing as well or just the rudder?

Just the rudder. took about 30 minutes to change out.

Another vote for the 2006 rudder. Made a huge different especially at low speed. Also, check and replace your steering cable. I can use one finger to turn my 2002 X-30 at pretty much any speed.

Did a swap on the 03 X2 I had and it made a big difference. Got my rudder from Skier to Skier. Best pricing I was able to find.....
