What kind of beer is grasshopper?

08-27-2004, 01:02 PM
Doug, it's not a dark or Belgian beer. I just never developed an affinity for the dark stuff.

It's fairly clear, but derived from wheat, not hops. Needs a slice of lemon to bring out the flavour.

When we went skiing in Steamboat this past February, we had to wait at this somewhat abandoned part of the slope for the shuttle that went to our condo. We always seemed to just miss the buss and would end up waiting for about 15-20 minutes for the next one. The last couple of days, when it dropped us off, I'd walk over to this snow drift, bury two Fat Tires in it, and mark them with a piece of string tied to something. When we'd come back that afternoon, I'd dig them out and they were de-licious. People would show up and be waiting with us, and were quite envious to say the least.

A good alternative to Fat Tire is New Belgium's 1554 Black Ale. Very mild for a really dark beer.

Iíll have an order of those wings.. Unless of course we have a good top shelf Tequila. In that case Iíll have the nachos

Is that David's previous boat?!? He kept that thing very clean but it looks even better. I didn't think it would have been possible. It looks great! Awesome job. I would like to find a place like that down here.

rem p-
My brother is a part-time bartender and said that the RedBull and vodka is a hugely popular drink. He was fixing them at the lake last week. I don't drink alcohol, but it sounded interesting.

08-27-2004, 04:27 PM
Jagermeister! haha

08-27-2004, 04:33 PM
Beau, Thanks and yes it is. I just had a full off trailer buff, some gelcoat, decals, and new rub rail installed. The hull had yellowed and the rubrail was loose on the port side and had a few dingers. It took longer than expected but the weather hasn't been very good for boating anyway. This guy has been in business for about 30 years and his shop is only 15 minutes from me. Notice the numbers are no longer where the second star from the front is. Might do some upholstery work next. You can assure him that it is in good hands. How is he doing with the 197?

08-27-2004, 04:37 PM
He seems to love it...
I know I do!

08-27-2004, 05:04 PM
yea the redbull and vodka is becoming a pretty popular one...maybe one day it'll be on the level of jake and coke, or crown and sprite....yea the first time i heard of it i was like i bet that is some nasty ****, cause i dont like vodka but after i tried one one time its pretty good, easy to make too...nothin to it

nice lookin boat stevo

Sometimes, if I'm feeling like El Duderino (if I'm not into the whole brevity thing), I'll toss back a Caucasian (or CO Bulldog).

Steamboat is my most favorite place to snow ski. Great story about the beers in the snow. I burried a few beers in my days... It's a bummer when you forget where you burried them. New Belgium's 1554 Black Ale, I have not heard of this... However, I will by the time 5:00 p.m. get's here. Later.

Thanks Rem, I tried that Red Bull with no. 57 Smirnoff. Got too crazy!
You guys have a great weekend! We're off to the lake for a few days.

That Red Bull stuff will give you heart trouble. Somebody handed me a jager and red bull shot a couple of weeks ago. Thought I was going to boot. Not a jager fan.

08-27-2004, 06:32 PM
SAM: "What'll you have Normie?"
NORM: "Well, I'm in a gambling mood, Sammy. I'll take a glass of whatever comes out of that tap."
SAM: "Looks like beer, Norm."
NORM: "Call me Mister Lucky."

Steve, Bring an umbrella this weekend, it's not looking good.

08-27-2004, 07:16 PM
