Looking at installing the Swim platform with these LED pucks

http://www.bulletlines.com/Underwater-Marine-Lights-p/1020.htm

under the platform rather than through the hull.

I've been told that they have to be totally submerged. Any thoughts..

Thanks

Sorry, I realize that this might have already been discussed, but I couldn't find answer. Thanks guys.

Most of the underwater lights do need to be submerged to allow them to dissipate heat without burning up. You would have to consult the company you are thinking of using, but that would be my guess as I don't know of any how power LED underwater lights that wont burn up when they are not being cooled through being underwater.

I have the abyss 600. ( a pair ) attached to the hull. I love them. Wish I could afford two more.

If I was going to attach them to the swim platform. I would look into these. they are cheap, and if the advertisement is truthful they are bright.

Thought about getting some for my fishing boat.

Holy lick. That's quite the set up. Think you could see that light in the water from 10000 feet.

Poor blind fish!!!!! That is actually a tad overkill... you need sunglasses to be on the boat at night :)
