I use napa gold filters and Mobil 1 my 96 190, w/LT1. You will many different responses here, Change it often and it doesn't matter IMO.

Change it every 50 hours and you don't need synth. I use Castrol GTX 20W-50

Napa Gold/Wix 1069 filter. Whatever brand of 15W40 diesel oil that's on sale.

I run full synthetic with a high end oil filter in my LT-1. I also leave it in for the whole season. Just my personal opinion, but I think a 50 hour oil change interval is overkill, espeically with synthetic.

As far as oil filters go, I'd read this before making that decision. This guy actually cut open most of the filters on the market. Pretty interesting. It made me take back the AC Delco filter I bought I first time around.

There are hash marks on the stick, it may need 4.5 or 4.75 or even 5.25 to get it in that area. Napa sells Rotella motor oils which a bunch of people use, myself included. Napa also sells Wix filters which filter well and still have a good flow rate.

The mods are doing "exactly" what they have been instructed to do by the MC board management. :D

Going to Napa this afternoon. I found the Manual on the site. I appreciate the help.
