View Full Version : Teak Deck Question

I am thinking about modifying my swim deck. I have a 99 PS 205V with the slatted swim deck. I would like to pull the center slats out and fit in solid teak instead. Will give it a more modern look and I would have as much water splashing up through all the time. Thoughts or has anyone else done this?

While I have had no problems with the larger/solid (no slats) deck on my X2, it definately puts more stress on the transom brackets when waves push up under the swim deck.
You can tell it pushes the boat up farther out of the water.
Personally I'd leave the deck slotted and help preserve the integrity of your swim deck brackets although the solid decks do look nice.
Besides my solid deck instead of water splashing/pushing up through the slats, it squirs up between the front of the deck and the transom. Doesn't keep the back of the boat any drier. Only advantage would be looks, IMO.

Good point Thrall, something to think about.
