Anyone have enough expertise using PerfectPass for surfing to make recommendations on settings appropriate for surfing? To date, I've just used a standard/default wakeboard setting programmed for whatever surf speed I chose for the day. I haven't noticed any large problems... if there is any problem at all, it's that the engine initially undershoots the target speed too much. Instead of stabilizing on the target surf speed in say 10 seconds, it takes maybe 15-20 seconds. I know underneath the basic wakeboard settings are controls for KDW, NN, and CS, but I know nothing about those or how to best manipulate them for surfing.

Let me know if anyone has played with it and found settings that work materially better than default. It might save me some experimentation.

The answer to your question is, of course, "that depends." But, you are absolutely right, It does take longer to stabilize at slower speeds when you are weighted properly for surfing. The best technique I've seen is to use a GPS device to calibrate the perfect pass in wakeboard mode. Whatever speed that makes the best wake for your preference is the one to set on the PP. The PP may not be exact and you can make minor adjustments for individual rider preferences.

You can find all the manuals here (http://www.perfectpass.com/pp_support_usersmanual.html). They have detailed description of what the settings do.

I like RPM mode better for surfing. I set it for 3000 RPM (well 2800 now with the 5-blade).

Is the Zero Off a better option for this?

I've never used a ZO system but you shouldn't have any issue getting a PP Wakeboard Stargazer to work for surfing.
