Loves the Mandalay Bay and the 4 Seasons therein. Scantilly clad cocktail waitresses and I won $80 USD off a single slot pull. Gamble enough and they may comp the room. It being a 4 Seasons (is it still), those prices, while high, might be valid.

If you tell them that you are bringing 5 large to gamble they might comp the room.
Whatever you do do not stay at the Excalibur, was there the other week, not what I would call a decent room.

Sorry Sizzler, that sounds about right, especially for that time of year. The new tower is very nice from what I've heard (my sister-in-law stayed there), but Mandalay anything is usually the most expensive place on the Strip.

So that should make you feel better, we take as much advantage of US tourists as vistors from out of the country. :D

Sounds like your getting bent over with those prices. Try Priceline.com or vegas.com and compare.

When our corp rate isn't good enough, I tell them them I am a government employee or AAA member (american auto association), although they might be impressed if you were the other AAA member. They generally get better rates. Sometimes you can just ask for a better rate or just tell them one of their competitors is $xxx whatever you want to want to pay and see if they will match.

We go to Laughlin and spend about 25 a night so 434 is outragous. And that was during the week. Definitely try Vegas.com. Got a great deal going downtown at around 80 a night. Mandaly is absolutely upper crust but you could always travel there from a much cheaper hotel. But you have to be a checked in guest to play in the pools and beach area. If that is important, big bucks. Try the Rio. Spify rooms. Off the strip. Great pools. Take a taxi and you can be anywhere. All suites around 200. To me a room is a room, you will only be in there to crash. If it has a toilet, shower, and a tv what more do you need to pay for. If it is a stag trip, you will be at the nuddie clubs anyway.

Are you "stuck" on staying at Mandalay Bay? Might be able to do something at El Cortez.......... Oh, I mean Bellagio. :D PM me and let me know.

Double down on 11, stay on 17 or above (stay on 12-16 if the dealer is showing a 4, 5, or 6)., split two aces, and most importantly -- leave the table while you're ahead.

Oh yeah, and avoid the slots. They'll break you in 15 minutes. ETS was the exception to that rule... ;)

And now you know why the casinos offer "free" drinks if you're playing. ;)

You might also check out travelworm.com. It's a local company that supposedly has good contacts. I've used them for plane tickets but, obviously, not hotels in Vegas. Anyway, worth a try.
