Does anyone know how to tell what type of transmission you have? I tried looking but the label is kind of worn out. I have the 351 windsor.

Thank

Check the pitch on your prop...

if it's a powerslot..you probably have an 18" pitch prop.

if it's a 1:1....pitch will be 14 or 15 inches

jorski had a good idea for the prop, the other option is to measure the diameter of the shaft. 1 inch for 1:1 and 1-1/8" for slot. the transmission ratio should be stamped in the metal label on top of the transmission by the dip stick. you may need to wire brush or sand it to see the stamping with the ratio. It should be a borg warner velvet drive.
the pic below is of a power slot with 1.52:1 ratio. also notice the part on the back of the transmission is the gear reduction. if you do not have this part, it is 1:1. the label is the red and brass tag under the shifter cable.
