View Full Version : UV damage?

I have 2006 X2 that sits in a slip all summer. I still use the original black boat cover but this is the last season for that. The cover has been noticeably thinning and now I notice some light brown'ish staining on the upholstery that is touched by the cover. This staining is mostly in the bow backrest area and the sun pad. I have been told that this staining is likely UV related as the cover is no longer effective at blocking the sun. If this is true, what are my options to remove or mask this damage (short of replacing the affected pads). I carefully detail the boat before each season and apply sunblock to the upholstery but the problem has appeared anyway. Help?

Its the cover causing the stains, check out this thread, this boat had the same issues.
