Curious to know where I could go... or figured someone on this board has already done the research. :D as to how much the 86 and older SS boats cost when they were new back in their day. Any original owners out their care to share? Curious.

I paid 10,000 + tax for a new 79, metalflake, deluxe edition interior, powerslot setup. (in 1979)

I paid 11,500 for an 82 demo (bought as new, never registered) with 93 hours. Powerslot metalflake, deluxe interior. (in 1983)

I paid 11,000 for an 85 with 600 hours in good shape. Standard engine, interior, etc... (bought in 2001, used)

I have owned three others in the 80's models but can't recall what I paid for them. But they were used and the price there can vary to a degree.

Let an 84 get away from me week before last for 7000. I'm still crying over that loss. It was pristine. :(

If I remember right my friends parents that bought them back then paid between 16.5 and 18K for their 83-85's

I bought my 83 powerslot for 14K or so out the door. Could probably sell it for 9 or so so it has been a pretty good investment for the 22 years that I have used it. ( by the way it has over 2400 hours)

I paid $12,000 fo mine in 82. It was the deluxe model with most all the options available at the time.

would it be saf e to say that your boats didn't depreciate much off of those prices?
appreciated in fact in some cases?

I guess I can high-jack my own thread.... 2,400 hours / 20+ years with the same boat :worthy: :worthy: :worthy: How about a picture of that beauty?
You have to start a thread called "The Life of my 83 MC". It would be great to see the upkeep you have done to give us older boat owners an idea of what to look out for (possibly) in the years to come. :D

OK Sanddragon, that's worth at least two :worthy: :worthy: ... you too need to start a thread, as well. "The life of my 78". I know there are plenty of other Old Scool guys... that like to see the never ending life of these fine machines!!!
