View Full Version : Prop recommendations please

I have a 2006 X1 that we use mainly for wakeboarding but also do some waterskiing. The problem is with 6 people in the boat, pulling up a slalom skier is not as quick as I'd like it. With a full power start, the skier takes too long to get up.

I have a stock prop but would appreciate some recommendations on a prop that might have a little better bite for pulling up skiers without ruining the wakeboarding.

Thanks for the replies.

What prop do you have?

If you have a 13.7 X 17, go with a 14.75 X 15.5 OJ

If you already have a 14.75 X 15.5, try a 14.25 X 14.5 OJ

[email protected] could give you the best advise, but you need to know what prop you currently have on there, and also what engine. (310 hp or 350 hp)

BTW, you should have 2 of your passengers in the bow for slalom to help flatten out the wake I would assume.

Thanks for the replies. Right now, I have the Acme 845 13.5" Diameter, 16" pitch, and 105 cup.

The Acme 1479 is 14.5" x 14.25" pitch and a 150 cup.
What do you think about the 1479?? Thx.

I went from a 14x20 to a 14.5x14.25 in my 2003 X2 with the RTP engine. The new prop is much better all around. We typically run about 3000lbs plus 5-6 people in the boat, and it has no trouble getting out of the hole and on plane quickly. I think I lost 2 or 3mph on the top end. I think my top speed is now 40mph or so.
