View Full Version : uuuuhhhhgggg! Why you trippin'?

The darn breaker trips after an extended driveway test... i disconnect the battery and it resets... then trips soon as i reconnect battery. Any ideas why???:confused:

I know this is a rounding issue.... I just really want to find it... cause everything else is workin perfectly

Is this the same problem you had? Is the circuit breaker bad? First thing I would look is to see if the load is high or breaker is bad. They do go bad. Unload the circuit breaker by disconnecting the down leg side. Reconnect the power side and reset the breaker. I would actually start adding load back one wire or as close to one wire at a time. Even if I had to build a bus and jumpers.

Hate to sound like a parts changer but they do go bad. It's probably time for a new one anyway and if that's not the problem you will then have a spare!

ok... I reckon I will grab one... guess that is a marine part... or would an auto part store carry one?

I think I figuerd it out!!!!! I have a 40 amp breaker... well, iput a 70 amp alt on the boat... welll, it must be shorting it out!!!!!
