Yesterday was a big day on the lake. Of course, I would rush off and forget the camera.
My 5-yo got up on his training skis. O.K., sure, the tips of the skis were on the teak with my toes on them, but he stood right up and had a good time. Most importantly, he can't wait to try again Sunday.
To top it off, saw a Northern Gannet (a bird), which is normally seen only over open ocean. It was the first record of this bird in Oklahoma. Apperently the hurricane blew it inland.

That is soooo great. Start them young. He will thank you for it. My dad taught me and I will always remember that. I like to see people teach thier kids something they can enjoy thier whole life.

Wish I would've learned that young. I started my daughter on training skis last year at four. She was a bit tentative so I didn't push her....she tried twice in the span of the summer and went a few hundred feet each time. This summer, first time at the lake, out of the blue she asked to try....only a few times all summer I've had her along for my skiing outings and now it's a regular occurrance that she asks to try to ski.....got her hooked I think. Best of luck to you bucky!!!!

Thats awesome Bucky!! I have alittle while til I get to celebrate such an event but I am preparing. Just today Hailey (my 6 day old) and I were trying to determine if she will be right foot or left foot forward skier. I think she's going to follow in dads foot steps, left foot :D
