So, we go down to our river site Sunday afternoon... Mr. Hothead (Kyle) wants to ski too, but I have a full crew. He comes out with his boat, so we have 7 people on 2 boats. Kyle says “hey, lets race...” I said OK... So my GF said "on Go" – 1... 2... 3... GO!
I nailed it and the boat just dug in and took off... Kyles boat must have not been fully warmed up and bogged.. His Nephew (or cousin) was with us and starts in on Kyle taunting him with “He’s kicking your asss, he’s smokin you... Oh man, your boat is slow..”
So, Ole Hothead gets pissed and slams his boat in reverse and buries the nose so far that the wave of water went all the way over the bimini top... They were drying the boat for 20 minutes and bilging water out for 30... Had to repair a broken bimini top strap too...
In any event, I ran a seasonal PB last night – 1 @ 22’ off, then ran out of gas, and my great friend Kyle towed me to the boat ramp...
Great night of skiing on the river.
Attached is a pic of the "VICTORY" sunset taken by my daughter just after I ran my 2011 PB.

I'm sure Ole Hothead is over in front of his PC trying to generate a response as we speak...
LOL
Thanks guys, It's only a matter of time before I get back to 28 off - I ran strong last night...

Ok I'm here.....
Let's say first I'm not going to give any excuses because they only satisfy those who make them.
Well we get to the river and had to Wally marks boat in. Then he runs up and down the river warming his boat up.
I get my boat in and wait for my cousin to come back from parking the truck. Let's say I didn't make a few hot laps but sat at idle. I would not use the word hothead I'd use the word irritated. My gf had been riding my backside all day and had me very irritated like she has me this morning. Anyway we had the race and on go marks boat takes off like a wild Indian while mine stumbles a split second because its cold and the choke hadn't turned off yet. Well anyway my cousin was more than taunting me. He was pissing me straight off. Understand my ars had been chewed by my gf and now I have a 19 yr old punk talking crap. I ment to throw it in neutral and let him have a piece of my mind and let him know that you come here and dont pay a cent for a days worth of fun and I will not tolerate your mouth etc. Well I missed neutral and it was reverse at like 2k rpms. The nose submarines and I have a wave come over the bow and windshield and some comes over the bimini top. My cousin knew right then he better STFU right then and clearly knew I was furious. He stopped while he was ahead and immediately started drying the seats and the inside. As far as damaging the boat the plastic bimini adjuster cracked and I have already sewn a new one on. All in all there was about 3 or 4 inches of water on the floor and I lifted the engine cover thinking it would be full and it was empty until I let the cover up and let a rush of water drain in. The water never touched the oil pan at all and the bildge ran for more like 15 min.
Then after all of this happens I get a ski ride and the driver brings me in at 38 mph which is another gallon of gas that was added to the fire now making a camp fire a bonfire.
After 2 passes I fall and loose a ski. The boat comes back and I get off of the a2 and get on the a1 and ride down to the staging area. I get pulled up and at the gates is my buddy Mark who has thrown a 8" tall wake at the gates and at 1 ball. I try to ski through it at -32 and it was wreckless abandon to 1 ball. Keep in mind a set is 6 passes and I'm on pass #3. Now the bonfire turns into a Forrest fire and I'm ready to pack my chit and leave for the day before something or someone gets broken.
I then beached my boat which I never do and smoke like 4 or 5 cigarettes to CTFD and grab my tools to adjust my new a2 that I rode on 2 passes total earlier yesterday. I adjust the ski and pull my cousin realizing after I blew my gasket that he was just being a punk kid and I'd prolly do the same thing at his age. We skied him and I skied another set on the a2 and ran 4@-35.
Yes I was having a horrible day. Yes I got my ars kicked in our bs race that was my idea and yes I want a rematch. And yes after the day was up I eventually started to have fun.

I'll pass. Doing that only makes things worse. I already do plenty to really get under her skin as it is. I dont need to add anything else.
Mark I seriously don't know why u started this dam thread. I still am missing all of yesterday's humor. Yesterday was a total disaster and it looks as if today is just a continuation. I guess I better start drinking now.....

Whats really funny was his nephew was trying to get kyle to laugh all day, I get on the boat and I look at kyle, put my finger in his face and said "Kyle, I love you like a son, but that was a serious lapse in judgement..." Kyles cracking up because it was a direct quote years ago by another one of our members to him that we've always laughed about...
and thats when the mood lightened up.

What's funny about those two stories is that there is such little variation between them. But they read so differently and are each funny in their own special way.
I just figured one of you still had a 4010 carb and that's what caused the stumbling. ;)

I'm glad you guys are enjoying my bad day yesterday and I am glad ole Mark can continue to get laughs off of my missfortunate day and at my expense. Laugh it up ole boy. You ran out of gas yesterday and I also know about the "garage door".
Maybe you should explain it so I can get your side of the story.

Do tell.....
I'm not at liberty to say anything else about the door. I only know one side and it's not Mark's side. I am not going to say another word about it but I know it's really funny. He can tell the story and I'm not going to put him in a position to defend himself. From what I have heard it is very funny. :D

I can't help but imagine the door wasn't all the way up when the boat came out???
would be my guess too!
my wife found that out the hard way several years back with out old '83 S&S with skylon & the 9 foot high door ... but then she (was by herself) tried to push the door back up (crinkled already) while standing on the nose of the boat ... just to have the rollers come out of the track (due to bent door) and the weight of the entire door was then in her hands (for a second) before it came crashing down (along with her) onto the nose of the boat, and then all the way to the garage floor. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper when she called me at work relaying the story (of course after I found out she was okay other than battered pride). As the steam rolled out of my ears, I could only say "physics dear, a 110 lb woman versus a 9x12 overhead metal garage door, you lose!"

Broken Ski Award!
I hear they give out awards for this sort of behavior. :)
We have an award for this behavior. At least Mark was no where near one of the last winners of the award. A member left his boat running with the stainless throttle engage button engaged. Well he tied the boat to the throttle lever because the rope was not long enough to reach the pylon. A roller came by and slammed the boat into gear with no one in it. The boat slammed into the dock and ended up on the walking surface of the dock with the prop chewing a hole in the wood floor of the dock.
Now that was funny
Mark did not tear down a garage door or drive through one nor did he have to replace one. If he did then there is no way I would be able to keep that a secret.
No doubt, this is one of the funniest TT threads I have read. What makes it so gut wrenching is the fact that these days have/do/will happen to everyone in the TT community.
Those blasted 4010s. Mine does the same thing when cold, but gets the job done after a little exercise.
