I don't know what I hit but after pulling off the water I spotted this gouge. The picture quality is poor but it is approx quarter size that goes down to the fiberglass (doesn't appear to be too deep into the fiberglass though).
I am wondering if marine tex or some other repair method would be sufficient to prevent further issues or if I should bite the bullet and have it professional repaired.
Thanks for the help! I've learned a lot from this board and you've likely saved my family from crappy weekends with all the maintenance guidance.
