Well the old EP XR7's are finally giving up the battle and need to be replaced. They've had a long life and have taught hundreds of people how to ski but their time has come to retire. It seems like combo skis have changed a bit over the years, some have shapes like down hill skis, some don't. Any one have a recommendation on a replacement? Something easy to ski with a little performance for slalom and not to hard to get up on 1? I know we've all spent tons of time teaching a newbie the dreaded deep water slalom start.

I just bought a new pair of HO Blast 67's . I really like them, cut nice, a little wider so they are easy to get up for newbs and they have a great open toe double wrap boot. You can also attach the bar for first timers. I haven't tried to slalom with them yet. It seems to be easier than my older pair for newbs to get up with the HO's.

I got lucky last year when my neighbor was having a yard sale. I was driving past her house later in the day and she flagged me down. She had a set of Connelly combos that looked like they had never been used. She knew we had a boat and the combos had sat in her driveway all day without a single offer. She didn't want to keep them so she asked "How much will you give me for 'em?" I had $15 in my wallet. SOLD!! Actually I had $20 on me :D

Wouldn't it be "ski's"?

Nope. Just plain ol' skis. :D

Where are you in Michigan? I drove from VA and traded boats at Devil's Lake Marina in lower Michigan.
