They made a bigger deal of Kris' course record at the masters than they did of his new WORLD RECORD behind the PROSTAR

as soon as I got it in the house I frantically flipped thru each page and was suprised/disapointed not to find so much as a word of it. When was the date of the Malibu open again?

They dropped that like a hot potato, didn't they. My free copy (thank you Farmer) showed up today. I plan to look though it in a minute. Wasn't their annual "how to build a private lake" article supposed to be in there this month?

I think I know why. The bu open was on June 24-26th. Advertising deadline was June 13th for the issue we just got. I don't know when they require their editorial work done and when they print but there is a chance this article could have missed their deadline. Here's a link to their online rate card. However, I still don't believe that this will be published based on how fast it all suddenly vanished into thin air. For a sport that doesn't get alot of news to report in a season that is very "odd" to say the least.

OBTW, I remember a discussion about how filthy rich MC was getting (among others) about their profits etc... Look at the rates on the rate cards and then look at how many pages each manufacturer does. Check the page count off to a partial reason an MC costs more than others ;)

Yeah, not to mention that MC has had the back cover of Waterski Magazine for the last ten years or longer.

I always read mine from the back. I loved the ad campaign from 03 ("Never Stop Feeling the Pull") with the people in their daily lives improvising ski/board moves, i.e., mom one-handing the stroller with her feet stretched wide around a soccer ball or the guy putting his shoes on with shaving cream. They still have posters from this in the MC Proshop.

I wonder what the page 3 ad next month will be from MC regarding CP shattering his previous World Record behind a Pstar....

me thinks MC will definetely play that up. consumers always like to buy stuff from people who are winning. In this case, MC winning/keeping the title of world record boat

There was mention of Dr. Jim in the shortline section of WaterSKi magazine. It said that there would be a full report about him withdrawing from the event in the fall issue.

I scanned wsm as well
there is a piece in there with gordon and some amish lake builder
and another piece about ski lake insurance and TT's robert averyt's lake in aggieland.
one malibu ad about Kris' record breaker
stupid wsm cover shows the world record holder and your eyes fall onto ~how to look good, even when you're not~
one pic of Kris in malibu regalia holding a fat check from MC
I also noticed on several occasions, wsm referencing the activity on message boards. hmmmmmm Hi Todd :wavey:

I think they definitely have an early ad deadline. Malibu was playing up the world record in their ad this month. Kinda funny.

Would it have killed you to wear a MC t-shirt? ;) (With all the Malibu stuff in that picture, it sure would have helped)

The boy has got some guns on him. Guess I no longer have any excuses for not being able to run 43 off. :D
