After trying several rubbing and polishing compounds I settled on Meguires one-step compound. It took multiple applications but it cut good and ended each application without swirl marks. I was really please with how things turned out. I also used the terry cloth applicator from Harbor Freight. Followed up with an automotive caranuba wax.

I almost wish I had an oxidized boat just to do that...that looks great!!! Maybe I can find a friend with one...tasks like that are always fun and rewarding...and I end up pretty drunk too...just that transom looks like a 6 beer job yes?
