Ive had this boat for a year now and the surf wake still isnt dialed in. i run the surf tab at 50 percent down, and stock port ballast and 2 400's on the port side at 10 mph. its mediocre at best. any suggestions? one sac is in the port locker and the other is on the seat in front of the locker.

I would drive in a circle but my lake isn't big enough. I think I Just bought the wrong boat for surfing.

Aric you can get a nice surf wave in the X15. Leave the surf tab alone initially, it will only clean up the face of your wave at best. Fill stock port and put atleast 400lbs in the locker on top of it full as well. Put 400 on the seat in the corner where you have it. Fill the KGB tank and put another 300-400 up front on the port side seat (2 bricks if you can get them). Adjust surf tab to clean. This will produce a nice surf wave...atleast it does on my buddies X15...we have played with it a TON.

P.S. you should not have to drive in a circle or even turn with this set up. Just say no to circles.

Yeah, something is off from this pic. I would guess your speed. Probably too slow......Need more weight to get the boat over on the side. I would never do this, but having someone stand on the gunnel holding onto the tower while leaning out of the boat will clean that wave up ;)

Aric, put that starboard side surf tab all the way down to lean the boat over a bit more as well.

Ill try putting more weight up front, hopefully that does it. If not I'll just put more sacs in it. The wakeboarding wake on the x 15 is unbelievable, but the surf wake has me upset.

We my friend I got the same boat. My setup is 400 lb sac in rear portside. Fill stock tanks center and port along with 400 lb sac on port side. Fill stb 40 % only. Leave surf tabs all up. (they are useless) I have surfed over a hour at one time with no rope with that setup. Aimming for the world record 4 hours before long.

I have the 1500# sac in my port locker (after I fill the port ballast). Take the screws out of the rear panel in the locker before you do this. It will fill up the entire locker and spill into the storage area under the corner seat which works great. I then also have a sac under the seat where the cooler usually is which fills it completely. Fill your KGB and leave starboard empty. Any persons in your boat have them sit on the port side. It actually makes a difference if the driver stands in the middle of the boat while driving vs. sitting on the seat. My boat does not have tabs. Hope this helps.

i just dont get how 800 pounds on top of the factory isnt enough.. ill try all suggestions as i just received my new bag fittings from fly high that lat the air out of the bags.

How fast are you going? GPS verified or not?

Am interested in this as well. Deciding what boat to buy but don't want to have to do a ton of screwing around to get a decent wake.

Don't buy an x-15 then. Go for x-25. And surf tabs are useless. But the x-15 wakeboard wake is killer.

Factory port and kgb full, starboard empty. 450# sac in port locker, 350# sac under port seats. People and cooler on port side. 10 to 11 mph (gps) depending on additional body weight. Makes a nice wave with clean curl. I would gps check your boat, mine is 1.5 mph off. I don't have surf tabs or attitude plate. I found the surf wake easier to dial than the wakeboard wake. Good luck.

Basically same recipe with the same result. 10.6mph Zero Off GPS

Use a GPS and compare to what perfect pass speed is.

Spent some time behind a X-15 this past week. We had KGB full, Port full, 400# fat sac in port locker and 3 adults on the port side. Owner of the boat (160 lbs) surfed at 12.7 MPH, I thought it was a bit fast but he was able to do his thing. Pocket was long, wave wasn't too high. My brother liked it best at 11.5 MPH, I liked it at 11 MPH. Unfortunately all speeds weren't GPS verified:(

Wave is def. different than my 205V hull. Probably just have to get used to it. Try speeding up. More weight the better:)

I ride goofy so sb full, KGB full, 400 sb locker and 400 on the seat. Only 3 people in the boat today.
