I have an OJ 14 x 18 on my 2000 Maristar 230 with the 330 hp LTR engine. I purchased the boat last year and this was the prop on the boat. I run at lakes around 5,000 feet and also at Lake Powell twice a year. There is one small nick in the prop and I am wanting to pick up a spare before going to Powell next month. I am going to get a new prop and use my current as the spare. I use the boat mostly for surfing with around 1200 lbs of ballast. It takes a bit for my boat to get on plane with the ballast. I am looking for more low end grunt and I dont care about top end speed. I hear that the acme 1433 (14 x 14.25) is a good surf prop, but it looks like guys are using it on newer boats. Will this prop work for my model year 2000 boat? Also, I have a 1 1/8 keyed shaft. Looks most of the newer boats are splined. Can I order the 1433 keyed?

I suggest calling Eric or Bill, they can help.

Guy at acme is recommending the 1591 (14x16). He said it will be a night and day difference. Anyone have feedback on this prop?

On my 2005 X-10, I changed to an Acme #1593. It is a 14.5 x 16. I lost about 3 mph on the top end, but it pulls really hard out of the hole now and and I am pleased with it. I do have the MCX engine.

14x16 sounds good... I run a 14.25x14 but only because we run a lot of weight. Crusing speed dropped to 36mph WOT with 560lbs of lead in the nose havent tried wot without the lead.

I went with the 1161, which is a 13.5x16.
