my 12v manual ballast pump wouldn't work this weekend so I unscrewed the end to look at it and the main wire had broke - My guess is I can just replace the whole end (that plugs into a 12v outlet on the boat) - anything to consider when doing this?

I guess my main concern is will just about any new 12V plug end work?

Most any 12v end from Radio Shack or auto parts store should work fine. Only thing to be sure of is keeping the proper polarity of the center contact and the outer contact of the new plug.

Personally, if only the wire broke and the plug was still good I would just trim it back a little and solder it back on the electrical contact, but I realize not everyone has a soldering iron at home.
