If all goes well on closing my pending nearly new X-14 acquisition, I will be listing a very clean (interior and exterior) 1998 Prostar 205 in several days. Red, dual battery, approx. 650 hours, new cover, extended pylon, etc.

Runs great and we have used it almost every weekend this Summer.

I store it on a covered lift, polish and wipe it down after every use, etc. Will post more details and pictures in Marketplace soon.

Location? Houston or Lake Dunlap or other?

I live in Houston but keep the boat in New Braunfels (was not in flood). I will take some pictures Saturday. The only pictures I have handy are with the cover on and honestly do not show much.

Did you get it off the lake before they drained it for damn repair?

I am typically found on Lake Placid. Worried that our damn is next.

BTW congrats on the New boat, did you pick that up in New Braunfels?

Will be down there this weekend, but, unfortunately, no on the water plans for us. Good luck with your sale. Our family has a 98 205 and they are great boats.

Not sure if this will work. All I have at the moment.

Ok... is soon here? What are you thinking on price? :)

My "almost new" boat should be crossing the Texas state line about now, and assuming it is as advertised and makes the final few hours of transit safely, "soon" will be this weekend when I get a chance to swap boats out of the slip and put the 205 on the trailer. I have to finish my pricing research today and talk with the dealer folks since I may just let them handle on consignment because I do not want to hassle with it. I am looking to price it fairly. Not bargain basement quick sale pricing, but will not be trying to extract every last dime either. Just looking for an easy transaction. Probably around 14.

Boat is officially on the market now. Will take detailed interior and exterior pictures on Saturday. In the interim, if anyone is interested I can give you a contact at the dealer to call that is familiar with the boat if you want to get a non-"biased" description.

Is there a trailer included with it ?

The guy I bought the boat from kept it on Lake Travis and did not have a trailer. I retained the trailer from my prior 1994 Mastercraft and use that to haul the boat, which the dealer said was fine. The boat is currently on the 1994 trailer. It works fine for short trips, but if you were going to trailer it extensively for long distances you might ultimately want to get another trailer or modify the trailer a bit to ensure a good supported fit for the longer trips.

Just saw this boat on ski-it-again. IMO $13,700 is a great deal on this boat and I don't think it will last long. If someone wants to buy my very clean 92 190, I'll give them a great deal and I'll buy yours.

Adding a picture of the odometer since several people asked for this.

I doubt there is little, if any, difference between a trailer for an early 90s 205 and a 98 205. The differences length and width of these two boats was about 2" or so. Without measuring, I couldn't say for sure. But having worked on, loaded, seen, unloaded, etc. on both of this era of 205 trailer, they're probably close enough.

i have a friend that is very interested. her main concern was the trailer and the distance from tulsa.

Women always say size makes a difference though...

Very fast sale for an obviously well cared for boat.

Thanks for the kind words. There was an astounding number of people with serious interest from all over the country. If anyone has a similar boat that they want to sell, let me know and I will pass it along to the more than a handful of folks that were in the que for a lake test if the first responder backed out today.

One caution, about one in three responses from my Craigslist ads were attempting to work some sort of paypal payment scam.

Now I just hope my family has as much fun in the tricked out X-14 as we did for the last several years in my basic 190 and then 205.

Picture before I installed the carpet that had never been used. 2009 with 30 hours. Prior owner took incredible care of it and it was basically still in showroom new condition as promised.
