View Full Version : 351w oil dipstick

I was thinking of replacing my oil dipstick with a "lokar" type flexible one because the oem is all bent out of shape and has become impossible to read. Does anyone know if the entry of the oem disptick into the oil pan is threaded and if it is, what size thread it is? This is for an oem ford marine oil pan on a 351w indmar from 1990.

The older engines were o-ringed. Not sure on yours.

Thanks. If it's o-ringed, it wil be harder to find a flexible replacement I guess...

I have the part number for my old one if it would help.

Thanks to you both. I'll check if it's threaded or not this weekend and try to get a match from lokar.

My 93 was not threaded. Part number for my 93 351 HO dipstick was D5UE 6750 AF Ford M.

Thank you. Do you just pull on the tube to remove it from oil pan?

On my old Indmar engine, you did not thread it.
