View Full Version : Driveshaft/Seal

I know there is a bushing that is water lubed on the drive shaft and I know there is that drip seal up by the engine compartment. My question is pretty simple. I was running my engine in the driveway for about 30 seconds with water going to it. On accident I bumped it into gear, spinning my prop for about 10 seconds. I noticed a faint squeking sound and instantly turned off the key.

Did I do any major damage to the bushings or seals on the driveshaft? Just curious and slightly nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ten seconds should do no major harm, but it did increase the wear on the strut bushing.

Update your profile to tell us what boat you have now. Something tells me you no longer have the 1990 Sea Ray.

Don't worry about it.
