Anyway back to the real story... We pull up to prep the boat, and my wife asks if I want her to try backing it in since there was no one there. After I picked myself up off of the ground from the shock I said sure. She has always avoided it in the past. She did great. She got it on the first pass, and didn't even zig-zag.

I then had my 14 year old back the boat off the trailer and dock it completely by himself while I watched from the dock. He did perfectly.

We've only had the boat since sept. and my son always pulls my, but I had my wife pull me on the wakeboard, ski, and surf board so she could start to learn how. The only hiccup was she got a little scared of turning at the end of the lake, so instead of doing a nice tight turn, she slowed down to 10mph to turn because she was afraid she would tip the boat over. I just started laughing. With reasoning like that, how could you be mad?

All in all it was a great learning session for everyone, and we even got in some great skiing.

Only down side to the day was that the binding on my 15 year old ski blew out crossing the wake. So now I really Have to buy a new ski. I'm just glad it happened last night and not on day one of Lake Powell in 3 weeks.

I fail to see a downside here.

New stuff :D

By day 3 of lake Powell, you'll be so mad that you cant find good water to ski on, a broken binding would be a blessing in disguise...

Take a sh*tload of beer and whiskey, you're gonna need it...

LOL

I haven't been there in about 8 yrs, but I've never had a problem getting early AM and late PM glass with reasonable water in the middle of the day. That's when the kids can tube anyway.

Yea my girl/me have had it out of 2 occasions over driving the boat. She refuses to learn to back up the trailer or drive the boat in b/c of the hectic nature of our ramp. I can understand that I'll forever be getting hateful looks at the ramp for doing both however I started her out slowly 2 weeks ago pulling me. First time she took off way too slow. I encouraged her to nail it up to alil over mid speed, then come off a bit, and then wait for pp to take over. Next time she got to about 30 before realizing what she was doing. Finally got a decent pull out of her. My mistake in leaving my buddy (moron) and her in the boat to pull me. He was paying zero attention to hand signals and she was just focusing on not running into any other boats. Well she decides its time to hair pin turn it while accelerating and I take a pretty nasty fall. Nobody pays attention and I'm left in the middle of the water watching the boat continue on while the lake is slammed for the 4th weekend. Needless to say I ripped both of them a new butthole out of frustration. Shes moving out this weekend haha

Just as well she is leaving. If you can't get her to drive the boat or back the trailer properly as a g/f, it would never happen once you got married and she quit trying.

Maybe we need a new section here for single females that can drive a MC and back a trailer.:D

Good deal man, enjoy... I wish i'd never been talked into it. the boat's wakes bouncing off the rocks and making the water so busy was enough to keep me away for the next 2-3x I was invited to join a trip out there.

I just had a bad feeling from the beginning when I saw a family loading up at the pier @ Wahweep grandpas lazy boy over the rail of a 56' houseboat. I think that it marked the beginning to the end of my marriage LOL

Plus, for that amount of money, I'd spend it in the Caribbean scuba diving or at Chet Raley's doing some ski school...

Cant wait for labor day week - Cozumel 10 days all inclusive + 4 days unlimited diving...

You shoulda heard the conversation when we met...

“I own a ski boat too...”

Thinking she was going to say a crappy I/O, I said “Oh really what kind?”

“A MasterCraft..”

<ears perk up with major interest> Thinking she was going to spit out a wakeboard model, I said “Reaaalllllllly.... What year and model?”

“1998 Prostar 205....”

“Is it too early to say I love you?” :D

<a lot of laughing...>

“I guess the only thing we’ll argue about is Ford vs Chebby”

She actually has a Tige parked next to my mastercraft at the marina. she likes driving the xstar better. At least she wont fight me one day when I say "we need a new xstar and it's 100k..."

Hehehe... I think the boarding boats are great comfort wise... I just love the way my old MC feels like it tracks on rails...

One guy in our club has a SAN and it's a really kickass boat - I could hear the AC/DC blasting out the speakers even sitting at the dock from across the lake!

You guys all lie jk. I barley see girls skiing let alone owning there own boats. I have never seen a boat full of girls come up to my boat needing a spotter.

I don't think that I would know what to do if this situation happened to me.

Should we start a new thread with girls doing stunts. Rather than just sitting in a bathing suit?

Nope, same here, the GirlFriend grew up skiing at camp + grandparents lake house...........now drives great for wakeboarding .......but says she really likes to pull me slalom because "she gets to go faster"

She does not own a boat....but is happy to drive us to the lake in her MBenz. :))

Quite likely a keeper.
