Have recently discovered the board and have found it most useful to say the least.

We have been on a work assignment in Asia for the past two years so have not been as active as I would have liked messing around with boats, skiing and the like.

We are now settled in western PA near Pittsburgh and are looking forward to finding a few good spots to ski etc in the area as well as trailering our boat to our family cottage north of Toronto.

The trailering part has me nervous as we have never ventured this far.

Boat is an 85SS - some pictures etc to follow...

Anyway thanks in advance for all the indespensible advice and good counsel.

Cheers

Brad

No, not used while we were away and yes we have replaced the wheel bearings, tires, a bulb, had a tune up done, oil, battery, belt, raw water pump, impellor...

Our place is on Georgian Bay a few kms north of Parry Sound. Happily we are well sheltered so we can manage to get out on the water most days as it is no surprise the boat is no big bay boat by any stretch.

Welcome, Seaforth. You might want to drop MarkP a line when he gets back from vacation. He's in PA as well.

Welcome, seaforth!

How far are you from Raystown lake? I've been out there several times, there is a slalom course and the lake is about 30 miles long!
I know that you can run your boat in some of the rivers near Pittsburg, but I don't know how good they are for skiing.

Yeah welcome aboard. Where in Asia were you? Powerslot 82 and MarkP are both in your neck of the woods. Mark will be back this weekend.

Sorry about the last post, it makes no sense. It is the response to Andre on Pitts Penguins upcoming season.

We were in Singapore, 90 degrees, 100 humidity, rain every day, monkees in the kitchen, and no not the musical kind, Adelaide Au before that.

Brad, what part of the Pittsburgh area?

I know a few places for you to check out.

I use the allegheney river about 20 miles upstream.
MarkP like Shenango Reservoir about an hour north.
There are many more.

We're in the south hills.

We had the boat at Loyalhanna today. Not a bad venue...if you get there early. By about noon or so this little lake gets a lot of traffic, too much in my opinion.

So after a quick shake down we were gone. I noticed a good bit of water in the bilge after 2hrs, thinking it might be the packing, or a slightly lose couple of bolts on the swim grid. Any comments on what might be considered normal. There was not enought to fire the pump, but a good amount streaming out once the plug was pulled on the hard.

I also managed to stop up one of the speedos, and ah ha found the remedy here on the board, the sending unit pin probe yielded a thin stream of water, right into my face...

Good day though, boat ran like a top. Looking forward to trying a few of the other locale's

Cheers
