Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the advise that's been posted and replies to my questions. Everyone has been a great help!

Last Friday night and Saturday morning, I...

1. cleaned the waterline stain off the hull, then polished and waxed the bottom also. The Nu-Hull stuff took it right off...and yeah, I had to wear gloves and a respirator.

2. Replaced the impellor. Pretty easy job...had trouble at first trying to get the old one out, but found out that you just have to grab one of the rubber fins with a pair of needle nose plyers and pull hard.

3. Replaced the noisey blower with a new one...which was an easy job, but now it's so quiet that you can't tell it's running. I had pulled the boat out of the water Saturday evening and didn't notice that the blower was still running until I walked around the back to put the cover on and felt the air blowing in my face coming from the vents.

4. Refinished my Teak deck...it looks brand new!!! Not grey anymore.

So after riding all afternoon on Saturday, I'm REALLY sore, REALLY sunburnt, and REALLLLY happy!!! Thanks All!!! :D

That's why I just changed my blower switch from being always powered on, to only powered on when the key is on. That way, I can leave the blower switch turned on all the time & not worry about killing my batt.

Good idea!...I think I will do that also. Because I know it's only a matter of time before I leave it on and forget it.

I wish that MC would just go ahead and come up with a way for the blower to automatically come on when the engine RPMs are below 1200 or so, and shut off when you get above that RPM. You would think that with everything being electronic and computer controlled these days, that would be a piece of cake.

They want you to be responsible for evacuating the fumes from the engine compartment, raw fumes can explode. They say to run it for a few minutes before you start it each time. It would take quite awhile for that little fan to drain your battery.

If you do - I was able to find 2 sets of wires labeled for the radio. One set was just radio & ground. The other set had a 3rd wire labeled amp. I used the 2-wire whip to power the blower switch. I then used acc2 to power my radio. That way, it can be on without the key and can also easily be turned on by the driver :D . Even though I have a wireless remote, it's incredibly easy to find the acc2 switch while driving without looking.

Next, I'm going to make my acc1 (heater) switch also be only on when the key is on.

I can't remember the brand, but it looked identical to the original...except that it was white instead of black in color.

I called skidim.com at 803-345-0996...they are great. Very helpful and I just told him the year and model of my boat and he knew exactly which blower I needed. It was only about 20 bucks or so.

And yeah, "Workin 4 Toys"...I know what you mean about the fumes. I'm very cautious about that...especially since it smells pretty fumy in the boat after having the cover on it. I always turn the blower on first thing and leave it on while I'm doing my pre-flight check. But it would be nice to have a blower that would automatically come on when you are out on the lake and go from pulling speed to idling back to pick someone up, changing skiers, etc. Kind of like the bilge pump, which has the automatic position on the switch...I just think it would be nice to have the option.

and thanks Jimmer...I'll check that out.

ok, what about a wet type switch?
when the contacts touch water, it completes the circuit...
when it comes out of the water, the circuit is broken.
