My 9yr old loves the kneeboard. I'll ride it once a year or so, it's fun, but you just can't beat a single ski and 6 balls.

Bought one for my boys this past weekend. It was the first thing I rode behind a boat. I rode it first to show them how it's done.......whoaaa shortened the rope and jumped the wake hard for them one time and landed outside the spray on the other side! Surprised me and the boys. They thought dad was super cool for a minute. My knees said don't ever do that again! Hopefully they will turn into slalom skiiers like dad.;)

Used too... Too many football knee injuries to keep doing it. My sister-in-law does it and she is one of the few left on our lake.

My knees don't bent that far any more! :D

An old hydroslide is a great tool for learning how to barefoot though! I had no boom available back then so that's how I learned. Give it a try!

(the hardest part is riding the kneeboard @ 36mph on your butt....talk about pucker factor!)

Same ankle sprained several times when younger + one knee surgery = no sitting on a kneeboard. I still have my old yellow Hydroslide that I use for teaching barefooting.

You got good air!!

Oh yes, barefooting from the hydroslide.... Did that before I got my first MasterCraft...

I posted a video of me knee boarding on my face book account two weeks ago. I felt the need to prove that a 55 year old can still do 360's on the water. Aerial makes me ache ---so I am not getting too high. I also am not going to attempt aerial 360's at this time either. I water skied on my new Connelly slalom last weekend. Been over twenty years since I last water skied ,but I got up. I was only sore for three days. I will be pushing it harder this coming weekend plus I am going to do that wake board. I am working on my arms and shoulders building up my strength.

I take the wakeboard from the kids once a year and prove i can still do a backflip on it .... then put it away till next year. Love to wakeboard but can't flip on it ..

I rode my old Hydroslide Magna XL last weekend...which got me to thinking...what/how much difference is there between the 'old school' kneeboards and today's kneeboards?

All I do at this time is kneeboard, new job so I'm going to wait on the wakeboarding until I get my boat running again and my wide drives it

I still break out my HO joker every now and then. I had a great ride on it last friday, actually rode with the ballast bags full, holy cow, landed so far outside the wake I had to add some rope. I too like to show the kids what you can do on a kneeboard. I still fly high and spin 360's, but can't ride all day due to the old knee's and ankles. My joker is from about 1998, have they changed much since then?

My knees hurt SO BAAAAAD just thinking about kneeling, much less bouncing behind the boat kneeling on something, much more looking at you:) I can't kneel in a tube, either. At this point I'm thrilled I can still ski as bad as my knees are! I'm bow legged and probably looking at new knees in the future:( My MD told me they used to do tibial osteotomies on patients like me but that's barbaric, they just go to new knees, after all the conservative measures are done. So, I'm very thankful my knees tolerate skiing and hopefully I'm building up my quads in the process:)
