I was having an issue with an intermittently working fuel gauge on my 2003 X-2. I replaced the sending unit with a new OEM sender from Mastercraft. No change. I put a full tank in this weekend before taking the boat out and the gauge was sitting on empty after filling up. After about an hour of riding, the gauge showed 3/4 tank and seemed to be working OK. This sounds like an electrical issue to me. Where should I start tracing? Connection appears to be good at the sender.

Thanks,
Jason

did you check the actual guage to make sure that it wasn't the problem?

I am starting to believe this could be the culprit. When changing the sending unit, the gauge continuously showed 3/4 tank regardless if the sender was connected or not (with key in the run position). With sender unplugged, the gauge should read Empty- correct?

Any other suggestions? I am going to look into the gauge this week.
