I'm replacing the original carburetor on an 87 Prostar w/351 Indmar. Old carb had no +/- mark on carb where leads connect. Short lead was grounded to carb and longer lead led to the circuit breaker. Am I right to assume that lead from/to circuit breaker connects to +/positive connector?

The only wires going to a carburetor is for the choke, Is the wire purple, if so then its for the choke, just attach to terminal to choke and the black wire is a ground just reattach and you should be good...

Didn't realize one of the wires is purple/had to wipe the grease off. (the one leading to circuit breaker). Connected purple wire to + terminal on choke and black wire to - neg terminal. Will crank it up and see how it goes. Thanks.

You might want to apply water proof silicon over the terminal ends, this will keeps the wires from vibrating off and keeps water out of the connections...

Will do - Thanks!

BTW: can't tell from picture but Holley does not recommend using the 12V side of the coil for your power source for the choke.
edit: if your purple wire is running to circuit breaker you're fine.
