I love my new boat, but with a top speed of 42 mph at 5300 rpm, this thing is a slug.
Are there any tips on how to squeeze a little more out of this boat?

That's about all you're going to get out of it.

You could ask Hooligan if he found some more speed from his.

That speed with that engine in that size of a boat is exactly what one would expect. The only way to bump up a mph or two would be to get a different prop. But doing so will sacrifice hole shot so it's a give and take deal.

Ya i guess ill start looking at prop options. There's plenty of holeshot for boarding.
If i prop it down to 4800-4900 rpm, that should kick up the topend a few mph's.

I know the wake behind one of those is AWESOME! 22 is all you need!

WOW...I've never seen a MC like that. Very unique!

Love the color too...I thought "retro" as soon as I saw it.

New X25 is that hull. CSX didn't take off too well.

You bought the 3/4 ton pickup of boats. The driveline and hull are optimized to tow a skier/boarder with a lot of weight in the hull not to go "fast". Inboards are generally less efficient at transferring power to the water than an I/O or outboard mainly due to the fact that you can't adjust the thrust angle relative to the hull. The driveline is also significantly heavier than an outboard that you'd typically find on a center console style boat.

Not sure what your ballast plans are but I'd be sure you're ok with losing hole shot with the ballast full before you reprop.

you can go faster by re calibrating the indicated speed to 48-50 mph.
Had a friend purchase a X Star and the salesman said the boat will do 50 mph so my friend was impressed and purchased the boat. Had a set with said boat and requested 24 mph but what I got was more like 14 mph. LOL
But seriously, your not going to get much more than 44 unless you change to something with an outboard. Nice, csx with a 600hp v8 outboard

Lol...good one.
Im not interested in any more outboards at this time. I've had plenty of them.
This boat fits exactly what I need here in Florida.
It was either keep my Sanger and get a 2nd boat for fishing and diving, or sell the Sanger and get this boat. Which is what i did.
