Looked through previous threads on this but nothing regarding either of these two skis for the past few months. Done the online reviews and checked out both of them in person (have not ridden either one yet). Any thoughts from TT members on a good intermediate slalom ski with the ability to progress, looking for easy deep-water starting, good carving, doesn't have to be superfast - either the Radar P6 to the HO Compfreeride? The P6 looks so wide (wondering about it's agility), but I've heard nothing but good things on it, and good things on Radar in general.

Radar is a great company and makes great skis. No experience with the P6, but I'm still happy with my MPD.

I have had really good luck with Radar, and have found their skis to be among the easiest skis to ride. I would think the P6 would be a good ski, and I would strongly recommend considering the Senate. The 2011 Senate is .2" wider than the 2010, but all years are good. There are some good deals out there on previous model year Senates. I have been on an RS-1 on and off for 2 years and have tried many other skis and I keep coming back to my RS-1.

Hi. No experience with those particular models but a friend just got a Connelly V and he really likes it. It has great reviews from Horton on Ball of Spray and is really cheap at $350 brand new. Have a look.

I have skied the HO compfrree series for years and as a slightly above average rec skier I really enjoyed the stability, easier deepwater starts and it did just fine in the turn. This year I upgraded to the Radar Theory. While not too many runs with it she is a bit quicker but stable. I am happy with purchase.

Thanks to a ruptured pectoral tendon/surgery from Labor day of last year, I have a brand new, never ski'd 2010 HO Magnum 71" (Comp free ride). I can ship it to you if you want to try one out. I won't be able to use it for another couple of months.

i have a p6 and it is a very good intermediate ski. as age, weight, and general aches and pains beset me, this ski now is becoming a challenge - no i am not going to ride a big daddy. may be my last season since i am having repalcement hip surgery in december and my doc says i need to hang it up. got 2 runs in today and am limping. anyway, i like the p6 and can recommend a place that will let you demo if you want.

Thank you for the generosity (and that sucks about your injury). I think I'm leaning toward the P6, plus the pro-shop I'm looking at just told me to take it for a couple of weeks, and if I don't like it they'd take it back and let me go try the HO. Hope you recuperate quickly.

Go with the Radar Theory, you will not regret it.

I third throwing the Theory into the mix. I am in love with mine. I have had some great runs on it this year.

2nd season for me on the p6 and nothing but good things to say. Easy to get up and rec ski or cruise without feeling beat up. Carves well also but i am just an intermed type skier. i am 175 lbs and got the 69" but the 67" would have worked as well.

Thx for the feedback everyone. Went with the Radar P6 (69") today and can't wait to get on it. Leaving for vacation this Friday for two weeks so it's going to see plenty of action. Just didn't feel quite ready for the Senate or the Theory yet.
