noticed that after i shut the boat off a few drops came from my raw pump. when i start back up, no leaking. is it time to replace and if so how much time do i have until i fails

With water pumps, one never knows but rest assured the leak is a good indicator of accute failure.

if you mean what I call the sea water pump there is a seal on the back side that can be replaced. or you can buy my spare housing with new seal. pm if interested

Probably getting to be about time to replace the rear seal. Mine is doing the same thing but I am putting it off til winter. There is a seal in the back of the pump that can be replaced. Shouldn't be any need to replace the whole thing.

most likely the seal. Check that first. No need to go out and buy a new pump. DIM has them
