Platform problems

We have a 05, X-10 with a composite platform problem. There is a black residue which is coming off the platform walktred which is ending up all over the interior of the boat. I mentioned this problem to my dealer, however, he has not heard anything other than MC will switch out the composite with a teak and credit me the difference.
Could there have possibly been a bad batch of walktred or is this more of a problem? If a bad batch, why not just switch out our composite with a new composite? We really do not want to have to go with the teak platform if we don't have to.

Teak is the way to go IMHO, unless you store outside.
