It seems we're not the only ones who can't make these things work.

Sorry, couldn't resist. :purplaugh

If NASA can't do it....

Seriously, though, do we expect too much in a gauge that works? The 28gal tank on 02 PS197 would go from E to F when I dumped in 12gal???? So on the 1st road trip of the year, I went to the gas station and found that I could put in 6-7gal PAST FULL ! So apparently, there is much less than 1/2 when the gauge indicates 1/2.

Does everyone have this problem? Has any corrective action been attempted?

I have a X7 04 that reads low. It's suppose to have 30 gals (I think). I filled it up and only got 7/8's. It seems to go down to 1/4 pretty quick too. I'm not sure how long I could go from there.

Do a search, some boats got a small tank instead of their true tank. I remember someone giving advice on how to adjust the gauge too. But that was around 9-12 months ago (I think).

Good luck, let me know if you find any solutions too.

GRRRRR! I went out the other day, and besides the fact I took a fall that had me seeing starts, after my friend skied for the second time, noticed the tank was bouncing off E. When it says E, it usually means it. Anything else is unreliable.

I don't know if this is any help, but the fuel sender that MC sent us has to be cut to size. We first noticed that they sent us a part that didn't even look remotly similar to the one that was stock. So, I called MC in Tennesee and the guy told me that the new ones need to be cut to size. Is that any help?

I gave up on mine and made a dipstick from an old broom handle.

Mine bounces but is fairly reliable. That's the good thing about towing (only thing), I fill it on the way home everytime. I've pretty much got it figured out how much depending on what the gauge is showing.

When we get the boat back in the water this weekend,I'll let you guys know how the new one works. See if it is worth the $$ and trouble of replacing it.

I think I am going to try this in the next couple of months.

Replace your fuel sender. (http://www.wakesiderides.com/viewArticle.php?id=305)

I just looked at the Skidim site and the sender they sell does not fit 90 and new Mastercrafts.

Well, there goes that idea (for my 93). If anyone finds a better sender that actually works. Please let us all know.

Ryan, you will find out this weekend if our new one works or not. I have the part numbers for our boats. Phone numbers of whom to contact too.

Ryan, the fuel sender I ordered from MC works fine in my 93.

Something is very strange here...the one they sent us is too long and has an extra wire. All three of us have the same boat...am I right? Mine is not fuel injected and has a 351 Ford also a 93 but the Anniversary Ed.

I'm glad to hear that. I'll give it a try and hope it resolves my issues.

Mine is sort of accurate from 1/2 to empty, but the needle bounces around like there is a short. I've gone over it twice, and haven't found one.
