Greeting,

I have a 1990 prostar 190 (351) and the silent master has a number of cracks in it. Question Skidim is recommending the 42`replacement muffler.

As I am not near the boat does anyone know off hand whether this will fit without removing the fuel tank...if not can you recommend an alternative shorter productÉ

Thanks in advance!

That muffler doesn't look like mine on my 93 Prostar. My Silent Master sits at the back of the engine sideways. I have removed mine twice and sanded it where it was cracked in two different places. Then layed fiberglass cloth over the cracks and glassed it with three separate coats. Reinstalled and went about my business. I am not sure if I would replace mine if it ever went bad. One thing about this forum ---you should get some good advice.

Have a 1998 PS 205. Had some leaks at each end of the mufflers. Had them re-glassed. $100 for both mufflers. I had been shopping around, at skidim, for replacements... but they do not carry SilentMaster. You're going to end up with something else. It was better, cheaper to just repair what was in the boat. That said, if your muffler is beyond repair - you're going to have to get a new one(s).

I installed those in my 94. You don't have to remove the tank.
