We got the best present ever! Another 1974 stars and stripes to replace the one I crashed five years ago... and sadly, never finished repairing. I still have all the parts from the first one and will be putting them to use in the "new" hull. The two boats I have are serial numbers 592 & 588 respectively. OK long story but here is the short version: I hit a submerged tree and tore up the bottom of the 592 boat. I had big dreams of resurrecting it and got pretty far (see this link..... http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=15485&highlight=74stars )
...but then my youngest son was born, life happened and I never finished it. So it has sat for the last five years needing finish body work, new gel-coat and reassembly. So, fast-forward to last week; By a pure miracle, I found another 1974 for sale, identical to my 592 boat (serial # 588) that the previous owner ran too shallow and hit large boulder which sheared the prop shaft and rudder off, but amazingly, has ZERO hull damage. So we purchased the 588 boat, and will be replacing it's missing parts with my stockpile of parts from the 592 boat. So, after five years off the water, I have hope again! Whoo- thats a story! None the less, as of Sunday it is now in my driveway! I love my family!- especially my wife- thank you Baby!! Here is the new 588 boat:

Same here. Wife and kids are in Florida so it's just me and the dog.

Went to church and then spent about 3 hours roaming the junkyard for an axle for my old Blazer. Measured, pulled diff covers off, played with gears.........a nice learning experience. Helped a guy remove a starter out there too because I had nothing better to do. Nice to help out.

Went home, had some beer and watched "Bullett" on Blu-Ray. Sweet!

^^ Please explain that game to me, is it like beer pong on a larger scale?

Viper896
06-22-2011, 02:42 PM
That's exactly what it is... but full contact. If the balls bounce in the middle of the buckets, they are fair game... meaning if you get your rebound... you get to shoot again. and instead of playing w/ a "sip" of beer. You have to down an 8oz mini beer.

Got to spend the day on Kingsley Lake with My wife, kids and a few friends( Trickskier and his family. KingsleyX1 and his girlfriend) We had a blast! The trip was completely spontaneous. My wife was suppose to fly back from a trip to Naples Fl on Sat night, but was diverted to Tallahassee Fl because of a small fire in the cockpit. Long story short..... She rented a car and drove to Jacksonville and I grabbed the kids and the boat and made the 4 hour drive down. We turned a negative to a positive. It was a great Fathers Day.
