Coming into the slip this weekend I hit a floating log while dodging another one and dmaged my prop. Bummer!!!

I think I will just buy another prop so I have a spare. I hope no damage to the other underwater gear.

Stinks ... I am traveling all week so I am just going to order a prop and put it on at the lake Saturday.

Suggestions on who to buy from or just go to dealer?

Buying props are not my strong suit. I know what I know from reading on here. My suggestion would be to get in touch with that guy from OJ's that is on here or your dealer. I don't recall ever reading anything that would suggest OJ steered them in the wrong direction.

It is an OJ C 13.7x15.5 prop which came off an 2006 X2. It is in great condition, and has very little wear on it. It is a spline shaft.

I say OJ and if you don't have a prop puller get one. Pretty tough to change out a prop without one.

GL and sorry about your damage.

Really?

I replaced my prop with 1 tool and 1 person. Adjutable wrench, help the prop wit a cloth and took the nut off, before i could even unthread it the prop was already sliding off the shaft. Slid the new prop on and voila done.

Sometimes you get lucky. Most of them do not come off that easy.

Yup, like DM said, you got very lucky.

Is yours splined or keyed?

My prop has never just come right off. Every time I have to work her over her over to get free. All 3 of my props are tight as little drums.

(2) 3 blades different pitches and (1) 4 blade

That does suck! I would also check that the propshaft or strut aren't bent. I bent my prop last year, put on a new one and still had it vibrate. Turns out the shaft and strut were also bent. I now carry a spare prop and puller at all times- my insurance that I will hopefully never need!
