Hi everyone, I am looking at a 2002 x10 to buy. The owner who weighs about 230 lbs told me He can surf all day with only the water in the 3 built in ballasts and a few friends for xtra weight. I doubt that is the case but I have had 0 experience with mastercraft. Is this guy pulling My leg?

My 2000 Maristar is the same hull as that. I weight 195 and can surf without a rope with 500lbs in one locker. That does not give you a big wave or much room to move though. At about 1800 lbs it is much nicer, I can get probably 10 feet back. It also depends on the board you use. I dont think these hulls are the best for surfing though. I have seen Centurions with the same weight throw larger waves.

X10 came with ballasts and a zeroflex tower.

My x10 is awesome to surf behind! All OEM tanks full, 1 540 pound in port locker, and 250 pounds on port bow seat. I will work on some video today!

When you do a water test, bring a board and try it out to confirm-

Do you know how many pounds of water the oem tanks hold? Have you ever surfed other boats?

??????????

Well, most lockers kind of top out at the 750 lb fly high bag mark. IE there isn't any more room for weight.

The question is how are you getting 1500 lbs into one locker?

Oh wait, were you saying you get one(1) 450 lb sack in the locker.

Never mind, I though you were saying 1450 lbs. Sorry.

I think he said He puts 1 540 lb sac on top of the oem tank. not 1540lbs

A bit bigger boat but we could go ropeless behind the X-30 w/ stock ballast before I added more.

we surf rope-less behind my 2004 X-10 by filling the ski locker ballast and port side only.

It also helps to have someone sitting on the portside sundeck.

Here is a video of my buddy behind my 2000 210VRS with 750 in the rear locker and 300 in the ski locker. 1 passenger and PP set at 10mph. Just to give you and idea. The camera is being held up high so the wave looks smaller. Nothing pro mind you.
