2005 Milwaukee River Challenge
Saturday, August 13 - Slalom Practice/Learn-to-Ski Clinic - 10:00am
Sunday, August 14 - NSL Tournament / Slalom Shootout- 8:00am
What is the Milwaukee River Challenge?
The Milwaukee River Challenge at Lincoln Park is a National Ski League Sanctioned Tournament presented by Tournament Services of Wisconsin, L.L.C. This year will mark the 4th year for this event and the format has been changed to increase the level of excitement for all skiers The tournament is OPEN TO ALL SKIERS - Novice, Collegiate and Competitive. This unique tournament provides a fun, low pressure environment in which Competitive and Novice skiers can test there skills against competitive skiers with handicapped scoring . The skiing discipline for the event is slalom – In this event the skier is pulled in a straight line between a series of anchored buoys. The objective is to ski around as many of the buoys as possible, in a figure “S” shaped course. Skiers may ski on one or two skis, depending on their ability.
Will there be multiple skill divisions?
The Tournament will be divided in to the following skill divisions:
NOVICE—(Division 1)-$30.00*
You have never skied the course and you are going to attempt to ski around the boat guides
INTERMEDIATE—(Division 2)-$30.00*
You are going to attempt to ski around the Green Buoys
Skiers who successfully complete 3 passes in Division 1 or division 2 must opt up to the next division.
ADVANCED—(Division 3) — $30.00*
You will ski through the gates and around the orange buoys (Those skiers forced to opt up from division 2 will not have ski through the gate until they have successfully completed 3 passes)
SLALOM SHOOT OUT—(34 MPH OPEN) - $50.00*
OVER $500.00 IN CASH AND PRIZES
Following the Class F portion of the tournament the top 8 (single best pass) shoot out entrants will be paired for double elimination based on Class C scoring. Max speed is 34mph—Men’s 4 skiers may opt down to 32 MPH)
SATURDAY, AUGUST 13—SLALOM PRACTICE/LEARN-T0-SKI CLINIC
$10.00 first Round - $5.00 each additional Round
You may ski as many rounds as attendance will allow.
*All entrants must be active Members of USA Water Ski or Purchase a $10-One Day Guest Pass

CHALLENGER- 1st, 2nd & 3rd place Trophies
