I recently purchased a 96 205 and wanted to start my upgrades I have ordered a tower from new demensions and changed out the factory radio with a kinwood head unit and bought some kinwood 6.5 speakers to replace the ones in the boat. Here is where I ran into a problem the old pioner speakers are supposed to be 6.5s also but they are bigger than the kinwoods so what is a good replacement if anyone else has run into this problem HELP! thanks

my 89 originally had 5.25" speakers in them, so I had to make my holes a little larger for the 6.5" JL audio speakers to fit, your probably just going to have to make your holes larger as well...

thats the problem the origional holes are to big for the new 6.5s. The guy at the sterio shop gave me a template for some menphis 8s but there is not enough meat to cut a bigger hole for them.

make an adapter to fill some of the hole and use the template for the correct size speaker or find a larger body 6.5 speaker

I bought some cheap Marine Boss 6.5"s that were to big to fit in the original holes so I went to Wal-Mart and bought some regular auto Pioner 6.5" and they fit fine.
